The nsquared education pack is designed to focus on the development of numeracy and literacy skills, and creative skill development. The social nature of a Surface device encourages collaboration and sharing even in competitive game situations. Each of the ten different activities is customisable with the unique nsquared teacher tool, providing plenty of options for students and teachers alike.

Game-Based Learning

The nsquared education pack is the fun way to learn. Students become quickly immersed in the activities and don't even realise that they are learning. Whilst the games are essentially competitive, they encourage collaboration, cooperation and sharing. In the classroom situation we've also seen them inspire leadership.

nsquared letters

A free form language application designed for use with or without guidance. The nsquared letters application allows students to explore words in virtually any language that uses the Latin alphabet.

nsquared numbers

A free-form application that can be used to teach basic mathematical concepts. How many ways can your students make the sum of ‘7’, or ‘48’, or any other number you’d like to explore? How many ways can they create those same results by using only addition and division as operators? Great for small group learning.

nsquared makewords

This structured educational game will help students learn object recognition and differentiation, and improve their recall and spelling. Teachers have the ability to create their own curriculum-relevant content packs by using the Teacher Tool to change the content.

nsquared herding

nsquared herding is designed to develop numeracy and pattern matching skills. It can be customised to create curriculum relevant content in much the same way as nsquared MakeWords.

nsquared snap

This turn-taking memory game requires students to match overturned cards. Only two cards may be turned over at any one time in attempt to find a matching pair.

nsquared missing card

nsquared missing card is a pattern-matching game designed for players of all ages. It requires students to select and display the missing card from the displayed pattern.

nsquared paint

nsquared paint allows students to use standard painting tools such as fingers, hands and paintbrushes to create their own digital art masterpieces. With 12 supplied colour palettes, they can explore and learn colour mixing, colour combinations and learn to create their own colour palettes.

nsquared chemistry

Designed for students new to chemistry, nsquared chemistry provides the opportunity to build elements and molecules in a virtual lab. The 360 degree user interface allows students to choose to work independently, or work collaboratively to solve the preprogrammed exercises. Students create the elements by specifying its proton count and valence, and then place it in the correct place on the compound diagram.

nsquared circuits

This app provides a free-form space that allows students to create any electrical circuit that is desired. Use any combination of batteries, resistors, motors, lights, and more to learn how electrical circuits work! Circuits can be created individually or collaboratively on the 360 degree multi user, multi touch interface that is provided by Surface.

nsquared coinswap

The nsquared coin swap game challenges players to use their knowledge of coin values and their mathematical skills to collect the greatest amount of money possible each game. Right now it includes activities with American, Australian, British, Canadian, European and Japanese coins, and we look forward to adding more.

nsquared teacher tool

Customise your apps!

The nsquared teacher tool enables you to change the content of each of the activities. Select new images from the supplied content packs, or create your own using images from your personal collection.

The simple point and click interface makes it a snap to add and remove questions and tailor the lessons to any curriculum. Once you're done, save it and plug the USB key into the Surface unit for auto updating.

Fruit pack

Full of fruity goodness, this content pack of nine different fruits is ready to sync with the nsquared education packs below. Feel free to modify it with the nsquared teacher tool (once you've downloaded it) by adding more images and defining content as you see fit.
